Well most of the leavers from last year had their first day at St Kew School today, there were a few tears this morning...more from the parents than the children I think but it was all smiles at the school gates this afternoon. I asked Ellie what she did at school today to which she replied "I can't remember" I'm convinced this is the first thing they are taught...how to respond to such questioning. She assured me she would take a pen and paper to write it down tomorrow in case she forgets again!
Anyway I digress. Pre-School will be opening its doors again on Monday 8th September. They have been busy putting on a new roof and re-decorating inside all summer. I had a sneaky look this morning and it is looking fantastic.
The first event in the hall is the St Kew Gardening Association Annual Show on Saturday, open to the public at 3pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome so if you are at a loose end why not pop along and support them. Lianne is hoping her courgettes reach 6 inches by Saturday and I understand Mrs Howard's Victoria Sandwich is the one to beat. Look out for the purple carrots....
We have to put everything back in the hall this Sunday so if anyone can come along at 10 am to help it would be most appreciated.
